Another Look at Gossip

The blanket bad name of gossip puzzles us. Not false, meretricious, deliberately damaging and divisive, or privacy destroying gossip. Just the kind of updating chat about one's circle or advice about problems that godsibs or other close social relations might be expected to enjoy. Or the relevant benefit of one's experience, amplifying the resources of a vulnerable newcomer.
What? No information ought to be circulated unless 60 Minutes finds it interesting?
