The Feast of St. Nicholas
Ruthenian music in honor of the saint given "a perpetual name for deeds of kindness on land and sea."

Gift-giving as a subset of "deeds of kindness" might look different from the ordinary Christmas landscape. Motive is everything.
Rumor has it the Saint is available even today to tutor us in understanding and demonstrating kindness.
Apply within.
As a disgruntled gift giver with a maxed out credit card and a long Christmas list, I definitely need some tutoring...Or maybe the reminder I got here will be good enough.
Thanks!

We started St. Nick's long ago when we had little kids in the house..and have continued it for almost 30 years,... with our youngest being 14, we still do it...it is a wonderful precursor to Christmas, with The Feast of the Immaculate Conception fast on it's heels.... all my older married-with children will carry on the tradition...(St. Nicholas..SantNiclos...SantaClos..you get the picture)
