Free Land...
...in Kansas and elsewhere.
It should go without saying that if you're serious about quitting the city or suburbs for the simplicity of a small town, you'll want to make sure you can handle life without Starbucks and the multi Cineplex.
Referred to by Orthodox Okie,
an odd mix of just what it sounds like. We, G-d willing and the
creeks don't rise, are sooooo happily settled on the northwest edge of
Texas' best city, easy reach of the library, Central Market's delicacies, kind friends. However, there are times and circumstances.... Still
a frontier out there, it seems. Fewer Indian raids, but plenty of
imponderables. But if the Amazon connection ever went down, Oh the sorrow!
Seeing these towns offering land, juxtaposed
with our new awareness of the demographic crash of Old Europe -- people
are capital, access, networks, the stimulation of another mind, the
synergy of other productivities. Intangible and tangible all together,
walking, talking, generous, aggressive, full of ideas and demands. Offering and accepting a welcoming hand, to begin a new cycle.
