Not exactly 15 minutes of fame, but sometimes the irony is there.
Dateline AUSTIN, February 21, 4:15 p.m. -- A crow flying from Austin's Central Market butcher counter to sprawling northwestern neighborhoods would have observed one AKA "Dilys" in vivid D-mobile wheeling up the hillside toward modest suburban Chez D. Interim global position, a ribbon of very comfortable homes, situated on a cliff with river view. Looking from the roadway for a moment sharply to the left: new and handsome grey stucco residence of the Vice President's injured friend, Mr. Whittington. Momentary diversion, peer at the healthy purple clematis in spring blooom looking very smart against the dark grey wall. Mission, hurry home to marinate dinner -- four fresh Texas quail.
A wish for all our neighbors recovering from accidental injury -- Get Well Soon.
Update: The NYTimes awards Dilys a social promotion: A Little Bird Feeds Texas' Ruling Class. Perhaps related to the anonymous little bird that they so favor as a source...
